Five Months!

I really can't believe how time flies. It's something for which no one can prepare you. Like when they say labor is hard; you really have no idea what contractions feel like and that you might rather drive a knife through your leg. And when they say that you'll get no sleep; you really have no idea that means you'll sleep, but that sleep will be for no longer than five consecutive hours (and that's on a good night!) for months, or years, or indefinitely. (Yeah, I got one seven hour stretch in there once. I think she was just teasing me saying "remember how good this feels!")

But boy is it worth it! Worth it TEN TIMES over!!

Here she is at five months already.

Back to my point. I just can't believe how quickly it's going! We were all - and by all I mean all four of us: Ava, Bailie, Daisie and me - on a walk the other day and went by an elementary school and I just couldn't shake the thought that I'll be dropping her off there before I know it! Then my mind turned and thought "Maybe I don't have to. Maybe I'll home school and then I can keep her home forever." Ha. Just kidding. (Mom - wouldn't you just LOVE that!)

This month we had to experiment with different placement of the "sign." Here I took the sign away from her, wiped off the slobber, and posted it behind her... and she found it! I couldn't believe it! She's one smart cookie!!

We also had to experiment with different poses. Now that Ava has mastered sitting up, she does NOT want to be laid back reclining like we usually take the pictures. We tried reclining her once and here's how it ended up.

Ha. Now you all know how the monthly photo shoots really go. Normally we only post the good ones. :)

It's all okay in the end though...
