With four hunts to fit in, we had to start early! We kicked off Easter week with a visit to Irvine Park with our friends Danielle and Baby "Money."
He's one of Ava's favorite babies to hold!
And ponies are one of Ava's favorite things to ride!

Unfortunately, she spied the horses, which trot rather than just walk (grudgingly) on a lead rope, and wanted to ride them. Irvine Park's policy is that you have to be three to ride the "real" horses. Next time we visit, Ava will be "three."
We also checked out some face painting.
And hit up an Easter egg hunt of our own with some buddies.
Note: In order to pose seven toddlers for a picture, line them up, stand back, and throw treats at them as fast as you can, preferably in big colorful baskets. Then snap as quick as you can; sugar-rush barreling your way any second.
Durring the first three hunts, Ava insisted on finding an egg and then immediately, carefully opening it and getting very excited about the treats inside. After which she would one by one eat the treats that were inside. Needless to say, she didn't come away with many eggs. (I had to quell my innate desire to prod her "Hurry! Get more! You can look at your prize later. Right now you need to be greedily grabbing as much stuff as you can get you little mitts on!" What's wrong with us adults any ways? Oh to be almost two again and content with what you have!)
Anyways, here she is enjoying her loot mid-hunt.

I don't know what her face-paint was supposed to be (we got the only non-qualified 50 year old male face painter I've ever met) but I just love my little girly-girl, already totally into "makeup."
And later that week we hit up the Rancho Spring Fling. For the second year in a row, it was a BIG hit!
They had Bunnies...

And games....
And ponies... (Yea! More ponies!)

And, our personal favorite, Disney Princesses!

(Although she headed straight for Prince Charming. Uh oh.)
And last, but certainly not least, more face painting!

We met some of our favorite neighborhood buddies at Spring Fling.

Daddy love!!

"Now THAT was a fun day!"

And at last, on Easter Eve, we were ready to dye eggs. This year we opted for the highly-toxic, chemically ridden, Disney Princess version of the dye, naturally.
But we had FUN doing it!

And more fun Easter morning!
Later than day we stopped at a field of mustard for some impromptu pics.
Between the collages, we actually got a family Easter picture, I think!
And here're the last, and final, Easter eggs... for 2011, at least.
